Upon his return to Switzerland making it Dunant continued to be haunted by the nightmare that he saw at Solferino. To eliminate the bad shadow in his mind and to attract the attention of the world will be the reality of war he wrote a hardscrabble books and published at their own expense in November 1862 “ Memory of Solferino” (Un Souvenir De Solferino).

The book contains two important ideas
- The necessity of establishing the society help in each country consisting of volunteers to care for the wounded in time of war of the quadruple.
- The need for international agreement to protect the soldier who was wounded in the battlefield and the people who take care of him and it offers a neutral status to them.
Then send books to Dunant families prominent in Europe the military leader politician philanthropist and his friends. These efforts resulted in an unexpected result Dunant was invited to go everywhere and praised everywhere. Many people are attracted by the ideas of Henry Dunant including Gustave Moynier a lawyer and Chairman of The Geneva Public Welfare Society (GPWS) invites Dunant put forward the idea in a meeting date the GPWS. February 9 1863 in Geneva.
